Swimming Swimming is an excellent form of exercise, a great way of keeping in shape and is available to everybody. Cultural and Leisure Services operate and run three swimming pools on the Island that are open seven days a week.
The HeightsThe Heights in Sandown has a 25m main indoor pool and is great for swimmers of all ages and ability. Alongside, a small pool is perfect for youngsters and toddlers to gain confidence in the water. Medina Leisure CentreMedina Leisure Centre in Newport has two indoor fully heated swimming pools and the Isle of Wight’s only public waterslide - a 25m super-slide with many turns that runs into the main indoor pool. The main pool features the waterslide and is a great way to enjoy swimming - it's fun for kids and grown-ups. The small pool situated alongside the main pool is perfect for youngsters and toddlers and is ideal for all the family when helping the younger ones to swim. Waterside PoolWaterside Pool is open all year and offers facilities for everyone, ranging from toddlers to 50+ groups, with activities from casual swimming to snorkelling, aqua fitness classes to swimming lessons, family fun sessions at the weekend and pool lifeguard training.
